Synopsis

Garcia Lorca o, mejor, Federico, que asi le llamaron sus padres, sus colegas y casi, casi hasta los criticos, dijo que «el teatro es poesia que se levanta del libro y se hace humana». En esta hermosa farsa violenta, como el la llamo, quiso expresar el autor la lucha de la realidad con la fantasia, con todo aquello que es irrealizable y que existe en el fondo de toda criatura. Un matrimonio de conveniencia y sin verdadero amor y la lucha de una mujer entre la realidad y el deseo son los cauces por los que transcurre la obra. El teatro ha de explicar con ejemplos vivos las normas eternas del corazon de los hombres. Y Federico, entonces, se retira, y da paso a esa Zapatera que grita desde fuera del escenario: «¡Quiero salir!»

About the Author

Federico García Lorca fue un poeta, dramaturgo y prosista español, también conocido por su destreza en muchas otras artes. Adscrito a la llamada Generación del 27, es el poeta de mayor influencia y popularidad de la literatura española del siglo xx. Como dramaturgo se le considera una de las cimas del teatro español del siglo xx, junto con Valle-Inclán y Buero Vallejo. Murió fusilado tras el golpe de Estado que dio origen a la Guerra Civil Española solo un mes después de iniciada esta.
