Synopsis
Última novela del ciclo que Juan Carlos Onetti dedicó a los agónicos habitantes de la ciudad de Santa María, Dejemos hablar al viento cuenta la historia de Medina, hombre frustrado que decide marcharse a otro lugar para retomar sus verdaderas vocaciones: las de médico y pintor. Protegido por una prostituta, enseguida descubre que su nueva vida no es más que la triste parodia de un sueño imposible. Jamás será un buen pintor, y su dedicación a la medicina se reduce a ejercer las tareas de un enfermero. Herido de muerte, Medina vuelve al lugar que ha sido su condena, Santa María, donde ejercerá de comisario; mero pasatiempo de lo que en verdad le ocupará a partir de ahora: su propia destrucción.
