About the Author:

Dan Simmons naci� en 1948 en Peoria (Illinois, EE.UU). Tras dieciocho a�os dedicados a la ense�anza de la literatura, en 1987 decidi� dedicarse a tiempo completo a la escritura. Desde entonces, ha cultivado toda clase de g�neros (de la fantas�a, al terror y la novela hist�rica), aunque es conocido sobre todo por su aportaci�n en el campo de la ciencia ficci�n.

Es autor de Hyperion (ganadora de los premios Hugo y Locus de 1990), primera novela de la aclamada serie �Los cantos de Hyperion�, integrada por Hyperion, La ca�da de Hyperion, Endymion y El ascenso de Endymion.
