Synopsis
Relanzamiento de la gran obra de Valle Inclán que inauguró una nueva forma de ver lo real
Valle-Inclán escribió, en 1920, esta obra, con la que quedó inaugurada una nueva manera de ver la realidad, el Esperpento. Personajes exagerados y situaciones grotescas se suceden a lo largo de los dos días en los que el poeta ciego Max Estrella, junto con su amigo Latino y el resto de personajes nocturnos, pululan por el Madrid más sórdido.Ramón del Valle-Inclán. Es considerado el gran maestro de las palabras, autor de obras tan conocidas y paradigmáticas como Las Sonatas, Divinas palabras o Voces de gesta.Con motivo de la edición número 50 de esta obra en Austral y del aniversario de la muerte de su autor, Espasa lo celebra con el lanzamiento de esta edición especial que incluye un cuadernillo de ilustraciones y un prólogo de Joaquín del Valle-Inclán.Dirigido a público en general. About the Author
Ramón del Valle-Inclán fue un novelista, poeta y autor dramático español, además de cuentista, ensayista y periodista. Inicia estudios universitarios, pero no termina la carrera de Derecho, ya que muy pronto se decanta por la literatura. Tras pasar una temporada en Madrid, marcha a México donde escribe para la prensa y, sobre todo, conoce y asimila el Modernismo. Vuelve a Madrid y se incorpora a la vida cultural y bohemia de la ciudad como promotor del Modernismo. Provocativo y extravagante, su estilo literario evolucionó desde un exuberante modernismo y un maduro expresionismo hasta sus peculiares composiciones esperpénticas. De entre su obra destacan las cuatro Sonatas (de primavera, de estío, de otoño y de invierno), que suponen la culminación del modernismo español; Águila de blasón, la primera de sus llamadas comedias bárbaras; La lámpara maravillosa, resumen de su estética y ética; La cabeza del dragón, y Luces de Bohemia.
