Entre enero y julio de 1919, tras la primera guerra mundial, dirigentes de todo el mundo llegaron a Paris para asistir a la Conferencia de Paz que pondria orden en el mundo. Los «tres grandes» (Estados Unidos, Francia e Inglaterra) querian, entre otras cosas, levantar a Europa de las ruinas, obtener reparaciones de Alemania, detener el avance de la Revolucion rusa, y decidir sobre el destino de nuevas entidades politicas como Iraq, Yugoslavia o Palestina.
