Dust Jacket Condition: Sin sobrecubiertas. 1ª Ed. 130pp, SOBRE EL AUTOR:: Wladyslaw Reymont es el alias literario de Wladyslaw Rejment (Kobiele-Wielkie, Polonia 7 de mayo de 1867 - Varsovia, 5 de diciembre de 1925) fue un novelista polaco que fue galardonado con el Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1924. Su padre era organista en un pueblecito polaco y su madre era de origen noble. Ambos querían que el joven Wladyslaw se hiciera sacerdote, pero éste tenía otros proyectos. Dejó el colegio y desempeñó diversos oficios (actor de teatro, maquinista de ferrocarril), cambiando a menudo de lugar de residencia. Viajó mucho por Polonia y a través de Europa, pero su pasión siempre fue la literatura. Perteneció a la corriente literaria Polonia joven. La más conocida de sus novelas, Los campesinos (1904-1909), dividida en cuatro partes que llevaban los nombres de las estaciones del año, fue su principal aval para conseguir el premio Nobel de Literatura en 1924, a pesar de que Stefan Zeromski era considerado un mejor candidato para que un escritor en lengua polaca obtuviera este premio, pero éste era profundamente anti-alemán, y por ello no fue galardonado.
