Caravana y desierto. Prólogo y recreaciones de Javier Almuzara. Apenas un puñado de poemas podría atribuirse con certeza al legítimo Omar Jayyam, como señala Sadeq Hedayat. El resto es suposición e impostura, si consideramos que el manuscrito más antiguo conservado data de 1360 y es por tanto cerca de tres siglos posterior a la obra original. Para entonces, los anónimos creadores que tenían, en tiempos de supersticiosos dogmas, una visión urgente y desesperanzada de la vida, ya se protegían del reproche moral y la sanción pública en la casa común de Jayyam.
