Synopsis
Erine has been diagnosed with chronic leukemia and Esther, her mother, sets out on a journey filled with lost battles and closed doors in her efforts to save her. Desperate in the face of the Spanish health system’s passivity, she gets herself admitted into a hormone injection program in Brussels. Thus she begins a grueling process that leads to the birth of Izel, whose absolute cellular compatibility with her sister Erine allows her to be saved. This is a true story that addresses prejudices and makes the reader reflect upon an important and current social issue.
A la pequeña Erine le diagnostican una leucemia crónica y Esther, su madre, emprende una lucha de batallas perdidas y puertas cerradas. Desesperada ante la pasividad de la sanidad española, logra que la admitan en Bruselas en un programa de inyección hormonal. Comienza un proceso duro que desemboca con el nacimiento de Izel, cuya total compatibilidad celular con su hermana Erine posibilita la salvación de ésta. Ésta es una historia real que hace frente a prejuicios e invita a una reflexión seria sobre una cuestión social trascendente y actual.
