Explores the life of one of the most infamous Spanish conquistadores who rose from extremely humble origins as the illegitimate and illiterate son of a Spanish army officer, but who by his own grit and self-determination would conquer the vast treasures and resources of the Peruvian-based empire of the Incas, only to suffer a brutal assassination at the hands of rival and equally greedy Spanish adventurers.
