About the Author:
Ricardo Palma (1833-1919). Perú. Nació el 7 de febrero de 1833 en Lima y murió el 6 de octubre de 1919 en esa ciudad. Fue la principal figura del romanticismo peruano y alcanzó un puesto en la Real Academia Española. Escribió periodismo, poemas, piezas teatrales, sátiras políticas, libros de recuerdos y de viaje, estudios lexicográficos y literarios. Fue desterrado del Perú y vivió dos años en Chile, donde escribió Anales de la Inquisición de Lima, su primera obra relevante.
