About the Author:
Fernando Savater nació en San Sebastián en 1947 y estudió Filosofía en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Profesor de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, fue apartado de la docencia en 1971 por razones políticas, y posteriormente en la UNED. Desde 1984 fue catedrático de Ética en la Universidad del País Vasco y hasta hace poco estuvo a cargo de la cátedra de Filosofía en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Ha formado parte del Movimiento por la Paz y la No Violencia, Gesto por la Paz, el Foro de Ermua y milita en la iniciativa ciudadana Basta Ya. Savater es uno de los pensadores más notables de nuestro tiempo. Entre su numerosa obra se destacan los libros Ética para Amador, El contenido de la felicidad, Ética, política, ciudadanía, Los siete pecados capitales y Los diez mandamientos en el siglo XXI.
