Synopsis
Organizado pela artista Rose Klabin e pelo curador Rodrigo Villela, o livro DESRECEITAS — DEZ PROCESSOS ARTÍSTICOS articula processos criativos relacionados a um universo que se abre na relação entre arte e comida, em múltiplas abordagens e caminhos de conexões que se dão nas poéticas de artistas de diferentes gerações e linguagens. Na publicação, cada artista elabora um prato de sua escolha, no ateliê ou na cozinha, onde encontra interlocução com outra pessoa de área do conhecimento e trajetória profissional distintas. Essa interação é registrada em fotografia e áudio que constituem a base para o livro, no qual se apresentam da seguinte maneira: uma introdução sobre artista e pessoa convida para interlocução que evidencia as possíveis interseções entre elas; na sequência, entram fotos e descritivo do processo de preparo do alimento, fotos do encontro e um texto editado a partir da transcrição de cada conversa; por fim, se encontra a receita e uma foto do prato apresentado, juntamente com uma indicação de vinho, feita pela sommelière Gabriela Monteleone. Como o foco do livro está nos processos criativos da cozinha e do ateliê de artistas, cada encontro é único e as conversas são provocadas a fluírem por vias inesperadas, sem ensaios ou preâmbulos. O objetivo é se aproximar da espontaneidade de um encontro e do momento em que pontes são construídas na socialização que envolve os atos de cozinhar e comer. Tanto o processo criativo de cada artista quanto a troca estabelecida em seu ateliê e/ou cozinha ganham corpo no livro como registro visual e textual. Somam-se a essas interlocuções outras referências poéticas e técnicas que abrem novas janelas sobre o assunto: arte e comida. In the publication, each artist prepares a dish of their choice, either in the studio or in the kitchen, where they engage in dialogue with another person from a different professional and intellectual background. This interaction is documented through photography and audio recordings, which form the foundation of the book. The material is presented as follows: an introduction to both the artist and their guest invites readers into a dialogue that highlights possible intersections between them; this is followed by photographs and descriptions of the food preparation process, images of the encounter itself, and an edited text based on the transcription of each conversation. Finally, the recipe and a photograph of the finished dish are presented alongside a wine pairing suggestion by sommelier Gabriela Monteleone. As the book focuses on the creative processes of both the kitchen and the artist's studio, each encounter is unique, and conversations are encouraged to flow along unexpected paths, without rehearsal or preamble. The goal is to capture the spontaneity of an authentic meeting and the moment when bridges are built through the social rituals of cooking and eating. Both the artists' creative processes and the exchanges established in their studios and/or kitchens take shape in the book as visual and textual records. These dialogues are complemented by poetic and technical references that open new perspectives on the subject of art and food. Text in English and Portuguese. AUTHORS: Rose Klabin graduated in Gastronomy from Le Cordon Bleu Brazil in 2023. She earned a Master's degree in Visual Arts from Central Saint Martins School of Arts in London in 2006, following studies at Byam Shaw School of Arts, New York University, and Cornell University. Her works are part of private collections in Brazil and the United States, as well as permanent public collections such as the Instituto Moreira Salles in Rio de Janeiro. Rodrigo Villela is a cultural manager, curator, and independent editor. He holds a degree in Literature from the University of Sao Paulo and a specialisation in Publishing from the Complutense University of Madrid. He served as Executive and Artistic Director of Espaco Cultural Porto Seguro in Sao Paulo, where he organised dozens of exhibitions and exhibition catalogues. SELLING POINTS: .
