Synopsis
Violação, conto do escritor Rodolfo Teófilo (1853-1932) foi publicado, pela primeira vez, em 1898. Teófilo, buscando retratar fielmente a epidemia de cólera-morbo que varreu grande parte do Ceará de então, utiliza-se vivamente de imagens gráficas de horror, morte, sexo e violência explícita, além de descrições realmente tétricas sobre o espaço narrativo, cuja temática está profundamente focada na degradação da alma humana, na transgressão sexual do indivíduo humano, reduzido pela peste, a um estado não tão distante de um animal selvagem. Como em muitas narrativas góticas e comum na narrativa de Rodolfo, as cenas e acontecimentos em Violação sugerem uma visão de mundo e da humanidade profundamente negativa, bem como de sua capacidade racional.
