About the Authors: Jorgen Vium Olesen is the founder of Scandinavia Publishing. His books have and are helping many come to know and love Jesus. Very few people have helped as many as Jorgen, to come to know and love Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Ben Alex is an author of almost forty books,  ranging from Christian children s books to biographies, inspirational, and adult spirituality books. He has received the C.S. Lewis Gold Medal for best Christian children s book in the U.S. He is also the art director and designer of most of Scandinavia Publishing House s illustrated books. Ben grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark,  in the 50 s and 60 s with a solid background in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. He has also been involved in the charismatic and ecumenical movements. For many years he lived in California and Oregon but resides now in Denmark with his wife. He has six children. About the Artist Carl Bloch (1834-1890) is one of the top-Ranking Painters in the history of religious art. His sensitive portraits of Jesus have touched millions of individuals. As a boy, Carl Bloc was plagued by inner anxiety although there was no apparent reason for his fears. In his later career as an artist, this anxiety was replaced by an intense conscientiousness with regard to what was to become his calling. His historical paintings of the life of Jesus are known and valued all over the world. Some have called Carl Bloch a pessimist, but this is probably not the right word to use. His constant fear of not living up to the expectations of others shows rather hat he was of humble character. Humility and conscientiousness are the key words in describing him. Throughout his short life he produced 250 panting and 75 etchings. Of these, the best known are the Prometheus painting and the 23 paintings which are collected in King Christian IV's chapel at Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark.

I love to use this book to prepare for my Quite Time with Jesus. Bloch s art shows Jesus love, compassion and mercy as few artists can. This is an excellent book to show to those who are Seeking. It is a great book to use in Sunday School to show and discuss the scriptures. Each art has the accompanying Bible story and scripture. I love this book.
