Synopsis
This year’s exhibition faces the fundamental changes taking place in contemporary architecture. Established in 1980, the architecture section of the Biennale enables the curators to widen their sphere of activity. Architects from all over the world are looking for ways of fusing the landscape together with new materials and new techniques, to satisfy the longing for better spaces. This fascinating concept is the starting point of what is arguably the most important architecture exhibition in the world.

About the Author
Aaron Betsky (1958), born in Missoula, Montana, graduated in 1983 from the Yale School of Architecture in Connecticut. From 1995 to 2001 Betsky was curator of Architecture, Design and Digital Projects at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. From 2001 to 2006 he was director of the Nederlands Architectuur Instituut (NAI) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 2006 he became director of the Art Museum in Cincinnatti (USA).
