About the Author
Robert Hughes, d’origine australienne, est né en 1938 et a été critique d’art à l’Observer, au Spectator et au Sunday Times. Il vit depuis 1970 à New York et tient la rubrique artistique du magazine Time. Auteur de nombreuses émissions de télévision, il s’est intéressé à Rubens, au Bernin et au Caravage, et on lui doit une célèbre série de huit émissions intitulée le Choc du nouveau.
