Synopsis
Riccardo Venturi has photographed Afghanistan for eight years, analyzing the dramatic changes that tormented this beautiful country. This is a tour to discover ancient cultures and touching beauties, such as the chaotic bazaar of Kabul, Jalalabad, the Al Qaeda bunkers, Tora Bora, the Mazar-e-Sharif Mosque, the ruins of the Buddha statues in Bamiyan, the quiet Uzbeki villages in Faryab, and the wonderful view of the lake Band-e-Amir.

About the Author
Riccardo Venturi,born in Rome in 1966, dedicated himself to photojournalism since the beginning. In 1997 he won the World Press Photo award for his work in Afghanistan and in 1999, he received an honourable mention from the Leica Medal of Excellence for his photos in Kosovo.
