An architectural historian, was Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic of Turin from 2000 to 2007. He has taught at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris and at MIT in Boston. Director of the Dictionary of XX century and of “Il Giornale dell’Architettura”, he is author, among other, of “Alle radici dell’architettura” (Einaudi, 1989; with R. Gabetti) and the “La cittą e le sue storie” (Einaudi, 1995; with B. Lepetit).
