Synopsis

This moving story of a contingent relationship is permeated with the color of milky white, symbolizing life, and that color reigns over the black color of death. And the working of destiny in the human relationship unfolds against the backdrop of pansori, 'The Song of Simcheong' and the red camellias blooming in the white snow.

About the Author

Yun Daenyeong was born in 1962 in South Chungcheong Province, and graduated from Dankuk University. After his debut with the novel, "A Circle" at the Daejonilbo Spring Literary Contest in 1988, his place as one of the leading young writers of the nineties was firmly secured by his winning several literature prizes such as the New Writer Prize of Munhak Sasang in 1990, the prestigious Yi Sang Literature Prize with "Between Heaven and Earth" in 1996, and Hyundae Munhak Prize with "The Way the Light Walks" in 1998. In many of his works he uses a journey as the pattern of his stories and one of the important themes of his stories is the tie of destiny or coincidence working in the human relationship. Among his works are "News of Sweetfish Fishing" (1994), "Look at the South Stairs" (1995), "The Memory of Far Away" (1996), "The Deaf Flower Tree" (2000), and "Miran" (2001).
