Mija Kim earned her black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 71. Dr. Kim is a Professor Emeritus of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, South Korea. She is the author of British/American Drama and Culture 2000 and Silent Tiger Roars: A Korean Woman Academic Looks Back. Dr. Kim lives in Portland, Oregon, USA where she was both a visiting professor of Korean Folklore at Portland State University and a graduate student in the PSU writing and book publishing program.
