St. Cyril of Alexandria: The Christological Controversy describes the turmoil of 5th century Christianity seeking to articulate its beliefs on the person of Christ. John Anthony McGuckin, Ph.D. (1980) in Patristics, University of Durham, is Senior Lecturer in Patristics and Byzantine Studies at the University of Leeds. He has published extensively in patristic thought including St. Symeon the New Theologian. Chapters and Discourses (1982); The Transfiguration of Christ (1987); and Select Poems of St. Gregory Nazianzen, (1986).
