To inaugurate his professorship at the School of Architectural Design at the Delft TU, Michiel Riedijk delivered a lecture on the place of drawing in architecture. The practice is inextricably linked to architecture and to reflect upon its nature and significance forms in itself a reflection on architectural design. In this lecture, Riedijk contends that drawing is the architects raison detre and supports this position through presenting a wealth of persuasive examples drawn from the history of architecture.
