"M.A.Pai received his B.E degree from University of Madras in 1953, M.S and PhD degrees from UC Berkeley in 1957 and 1961 respectively, all in Electrical Engineering. He was on the Faculty of IIT Kanpur from 1963 to 1981. Since 1981 he was on the Faculty of University of Illinois from where he retired in 2004.He is currently Prof Emeritus there.He received the S.S.Bhatnagar award in 1974 in Engineering Sciences and was Dean R&D at IIT Kanpur from 1976 to 1978. He has written several books both in India and the U.S. His research interests are in power system stability, control and the emerging new power grid issues. He is a Fellow of I.A.S, I.E (India), INSA ,INAE and IEEE. Dheeman Chatterjee received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Bengal Engineering College (Deemed University), Shibpur, Howrah, W.B., India, in 1996 and 2002, respectively and his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has three years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of Electrical Power Distribution. His research interests are in Power System Dynamics, HVDC & FACTS and Grid Integration of Wind Power. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. "
