ABOUT THE BOOK At present, the entire world, including India, is facing a precarious situation. The lethal nature acquired by terrorism has left no one unaffected. Innocent peoples are killed and injured in terrorist attacks, and their rights are violated. India is one of the countries of the world which is worst affected because of terrorism. The countries are enacting the laws to counter-terrorism. At the international level also efforts are made to tackle the menace of terrorism. India from time to time enacted the laws to counter-terrorism. However, the menace of terrorism is still plundering the civilised society. This book discusses that the countermeasures adopted at national (especially India) as well as national levels fall short of achieving their objectives. As the laws enacted to tackle terrorism are not in conformity with the principles of human rights, and the situation at the international level also is not comprehensively positive. War against terror cannot be won over by undermining the fundamental human rights. This book deals with different aspects of terrorism, anti-terror laws and human rights. This book will serve as a useful resource for students, research scholars, academicians and even to general readers. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr Vijay Pal Singh is Assitant Professor at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. He did his LLB from the University of Lucknow, LLM and PhD from the Babashaeb Bhimrao Ambedkar (Central) University, Lucknow. Before joining the present institute, he had served University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun and Banaras Hindu University Varanasi.
