He is the founder of the International Geosynthetics Society Chapter (India). He is a member of the International Geosynthetics Society, U.S.A. He was the Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Geotextile and Geomembranes and Editorial Advisory Board Member of International Journal of Construction and Building Materials, U.K. He is the member of the Asian Geotechnical Information Centre, Bangkok, Indo-French Technical Association, Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Road Congress, and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India). He is the chief consultant/advisor for various projects mainly related with geosynthetics, geoenvironment and geotechniques around the world. He is also serving as the editor of Indian Geotechnical Journal. D.G. Divshikar obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Poona University in 1956. Then he worked for five years at the Soil and Concrete Laboratory of the Central Water and Power Research Station, Pune.
