About the Author
Mark Cloostermans (1977) studied English and Dutch literature before becoming a journalist and book critic for Flemish broadsheet De Standaard. In 2008 he visited Barcelona for the first time (falling in love instantly with the city's vibe and colors), coming back one year later and moving there in 2010.

If you really want to get under the skin of a city, the 500 Hidden Secrets series, which covers a number of cities from Havana to Ghent, all written by people who know the cities inside out, is ideal. It's an innovative and refreshing take on the traditional travel guide. (The Independent)
