Este libro aborda su objeto desde una doble perspectiva: estudia el posicionamiento que adoptó la revista Literal en la escena cultural de los años setenta y la renovación que sus pocos números introdujeron en los modos de leer y pensar la literatura, al tiempo que analiza el papel que jugó la teoría psicoanalítica en la escritura de Germán García, Luis Gusman y Osvaldo Lamborghini. Lacan en el cuarto contiguo abre una reflexión necesaria sobre el fértil diálogo que sostuvieron en la Argentina de entonces literatura y psicoanálisis.
Santiago Deymonnaz (Buenos Aires, 1978) se doctoró en New York University. Sus investigaciones se han centrado en los usos que hace la literatura de otros discursos, y en particular sobre aquellos encuentros que ponen de manifiesto las posibilidades corrosivas de la escritura literaria y le sirven para renovar su propio lenguaje. Actualmente es investigador independiente y profesor de literatura latinoamericana en la Escuela Internacional de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
