About the Author

Carmen Dragonetti (born in Argentina, 1937) and Fernando Tola (born in Perú, 1915), two of the most prestigious Indologists in the Spanish-speaking world, are both scientific research fellows in CONICET, Argentina, and President and Vice-President, respectively, of the Institute of Buddhist Studies Foundation (FIEB). Both have been professors in Peruvian and Argentinean universities. Dedicated to Indology and to the study of Buddhism, they have published a great number of books and articles in Spanish and English, which contain highly reliable translations from Sanskrit, Pali, Chinese and/or Tibetan texts, such as Tola's unsurpassed versions of Gita Govinda and Bhagavad Gita, and Dragonetti's translation of the Dhammpada, which are notable for their beauty and clarity - one of the authors' finest qualities as writers. Other translations from the same authors include Cinco Sutras del Mahayana, also published by Primorida Media, Inc. Their last book in English On the Myth of the Opposition between Indian Thought and Western Philosophy was published by Olms in Hildesheim, Germany.
