Este libro reúne once relatos de espantos y aparecidos y forma parte de la Coedición Latinoamericana, serie auspiciada por el Centro Regional para el Fomento del Libro en América Latina y por la UNESCO, y realizada mediante el trabajo conjunto de los editores participantes. El propósito de este volumen es ofrecer a los niños y jóvenes de América Latina, la posibilidad de reencontrarse con las viejas tradiciones orales del continente, con los cuentos de luz de vela y brasero, y disfrutar de relatos que guardan, aún hoy, el atractivo de lo misterioso y de lo inexplicable. Los editores también quieren que los lectores descubran que los países latinoamericanos somos una gran comunidad que comparte creencias, costumbres, relatos, alegrías y más de un susto.
