Synopsis
From the very first short story in this book, "Religin", up to the last one, after which the book is named, an atmosphere of anguish and desolation extends over its characters. Eternal losers, they move about sordid environments from which they do very little to escape. However, Laura Fava's view over them is full of mercy and understanding; they are depicted by means of an economical language, in tight synthesis.
The reader needs no further explanation--he knows he would speak like them if under those circumstances and that he would even behave in the same way. Within less than 200 pages the author provides us with twenty four stories whose depth excuses them from bigger length.
