Instead, the subjects have varied throughout the production. This time, the object of observation is the surrounding nature, often one's own garden. The paintings resemble oriental ornaments and decorative paintings, but still they are Markus Konttinen's own treatises on nature. The book presents 22 new works by Markus Konttinen. "As I came towards the sky, the rocks receded, and behind the tree there were branches of a different kind than I would have thought. Down on the hill, the branches hung sadly, and the kite had finally caught hold of the telephone wires. Running, running, tripping, running. The bruises that were born inadvertently marked a path that went its own way," Konttinen writes in the text of the book. Painter Markus Konttinen (born 1957) works and lives in Helsinki. After graduating from the Academy of Arts in 1986, he has worked as a freelance artist and teacher. Konttinen's works are in all major Finnish collections. Text in Finnish and English. 75 pp. Seller Inventory # 2796
