About the Author:
Luis López Nieves Irrumpió de manera espectacular en el ambiente literario en 1984 al publicar su relato histórico Seva, que se convirtió en un gran éxito literario. En el 2000 recibió el Primer Premio del Instituto de Literatura (Premio Nacional de Literatura) por el libro de cuentos históricos La verdadera muerte de Juan Ponce de León. En el 2005 recibió el mismo premio por segunda vez con El corazón de Voltaire, proclamado el mejor libro del año. En el 2011 el periódico El Nuevo Día proclamó El corazón de Voltaire Uno de los diez mejores libros de la década . Su novela más reciente es El silencio de Galileo, seleccionada por el Instituto de Literatura como la mejor novela del 2009 y alabada en tres continentes. Es doctor en Literatura Comparada por la Univer-sidad del Estado de Nueva York en Stony Brook. En el 2004 fundó la primera Maestría en Creación Literaria de América Latina, la cual dirige. También es fundador de la Biblioteca Digital Ciudad Seva (CiudadSeva.com), que cuenta con más de 4600 cuentos clásicos. Desde el 2007 es Escritor Residente de la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. Sus relatos han sido incluidos en importantes antologías internacionales como El cuento hispanoamericano (Menton, FCE, México), El cuento hispanoamericano en el siglo XX (Burgos, Castalia, España), El muro y la intemperie (Ortega, EE.UU.) y Cuentos para ahuyentar el turismo (Alfonso y Jorge Rodríguez, Cuba).
