Viewed from the first tee of any one of these 50 extraordinary links, Colombia is a paradise of golf courses. World class designers have situated courses in Andean plateaus more than 6500 feet above sea level; in the hardwood forests of the coffee-growing highlands, and on the Pacific and Caribbean coasts where the fairaways are bordered with exotic flora. In a country without seasons, the sport can be played every day of the year and on every kind of grass.

This book gives a detailed look at courses in each part of the country, most near destination cities as affordable for North Americans as Florida and Arizona are. These photographs introduce a subtle, exotic golfer's Eden, an ideal landscape, a perennial flowering season and a constant tropical climate. Useful information about yardage, pars and other features are also included, together with diagrams of each course.

About the Author:
Patient and devoted is the best way to describe this young lady from the Colombian city of Pereira. Tute Puerta has been a member of the golf world for twenty-four years. She graduated from the Polytechnic University in Bogotá with a degree in merchandising and publicity. She is a member of the Professional Golfer’s Association of Colombia. Tute is one of only ten women who are recognized as golf professionals in Colombia. She has represented Colombia on many occasions. In 1989, she lost an eye to a bacterial infection resulting from an operation. This handicap forced her to relearn the game of golf as she adjusted her life to this physical limitation. Determined not to lose contact with the sport, she accepted a position with the Federation of Golf in Colombia as the Executive director of the PGA. Her enthusiasm for the job is an example of her fighting spirit, the same spirit which has enabled her to be a champion, both in life and in golf. With her wide golfing experience, Tute Puerta is, without a doubt, the person best qualified to speak authoritatively about golf courses in Colombia, as is demonstrated by the expertise and love of the game that are evident in this book.
