Synopsis

Fifty-Fifty, Book 1: A Speaking and Listening Course has been designed as a follow-up course to Fifty-Fifty Intro: A Speaking and Listening Course. However, because of its self-contained design, it also stands well on its own and can be used independently of the other books in the program. It can be used in classes at the high-elementary/low-intermediate level. The text consists of a warm-up unit, twelve main units, and three review units. Each unit consists of the following sections: Warm-up Exercises, Listening Task, Speaking Task One, Speaking Task Two, Language Game, Homework, and Language Focus. An Appendix contains the Student B pages of the pair work and group work activities. At the back of the book, there are Self-study Exercises with an Answer Key for out-of-class review and an Audio Script for the Listening Tasks. A downloadable audio program and teacher support materials are also available on the publisher's website.
