Forman, an internationally renowned human rights activist, provides insight into the contradictory behavior patterns of Israeli society, moving between macro and micro issues that dominate the Israeli scene. He paints a portrait of life in Israel that expresses conflicting emotions of exacerbation and exhilaration, and diagnoses the Israeli personality. His analysis is both penetrating and humorous. Forman is founder of Israeli Rabbis for Human Rights. Lacks a subject index. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
