The Hamas Movement has been, for the past two decades, an increasingly powerful player in the Arab-Israeli conflict and the developing relationship between the State of Israel and the Palestinians. The Politics of Terror: An Essential Hamas Lexicon is the product of years of research, and is the first book of its kind in terms of its scope and the extent to which its plumbs the ideological, political and organizational depths of this movement. This work is based on a wide range of sources and is designed both to give the layman a fundamental understanding of the topic and to provide a tool for further research into the tactics and strategy of "the other side" in the War on Terror. The author, Guy Aviad, is a Middle East expert who studies fundamentalist Islamic movements. He holds a BA in the history of the Middle East and Africa, as well as a Master's degree in Security Studies from Tel Aviv University. He served in the Israel Defense Forces for nearly a decade in the research and history departments. His fields of expertise are the Arab-Israeli conflict and Islamic terror organizations. He has previously published articles in the Institute for National Security Studies journal Military and Strategic Affairs. This is his first book.
