Hector Belascoaran is not a stereotypical gumshoe. Blind in one eye, with a notable limp (caused by an old gunshot wound in his right leg), Hector took a correspondence course to become a private eye. In his efforts to help out an old friend, he comes up against Rat, a petty thief with ambition, whom some might say was trying to grab beyond his means.
