About the Author

Dr. Bob L. Blackburn is Executive Director of the Oklahoma Historical Society, a statewide organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the story of Oklahoma and its people. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in History from Oklahoma State University and joined the staff of the Historical Society in 1979. He is the author of sixteen books, numerous articles, and several screenplays. He is most proud of the Oklahoma History Center, a 215,000-square foot museum and research facility located next to the Oklahoma State Capitol.
