Synopsis
Turkey has enjoyed a long and fascinating cultural history. This can be truly appreciated through a look at traditional costumes. This paper doll collection depicts 12 different costumes for both men and women from 12 different areas of Turkey. Along with two paper dolls are authentic reproductions of Turkish costumes in beautiful detail. Many drawings also include accessories such as ceremonial knives, scarves, headpieces and jewellry. An informative caption and a drawing from the region accompany each costume. Also included is a dowry trunk, traditionally used for the storage of fine clothes and linen, which you can use to store your paper costumes. This is an activity book that everyone can learn from and enjoy, both as a visual experience and as a way to learn more about Turkish culture and tradition.

About the Author
Amy Chaple was born in 1966 in Connecticut. She is a graduate of Babson College and the author of two books, "Exploring Turkey" and "Folk Costumes of Turkey". Amy is an art teacher in Istanbul, Turkey where she lives with her husband and two daughers.
