DR. ZAHI HAWASS is the secretary general of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities and former director of the Pyramids. He is the author of many books, including The Valley of the Golden Mummies and Silent Images: Women in Pharaonic Egypt (AUC Press, 2000).
