Synopsis

This book is mainly based on the test and selection questions of the 2024 Chinese National Training Team. It compiles the problems and solutions of major domestic math competitions held from August 2023 to July 2024, as well as those of the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad. Additionally, it includes the problems and solutions of the 53rd American Mathematical Olympiad, the 50th Russian Mathematical Olympiad, the 15th Romanian Master of Mathematics Competition, and the 13th European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad in 2024. Most of these problems are carefully crafted by experts engaged in mathematical Olympiad teaching and research. Some of the solutions are provided by members of the Chinese National Training Team and the national team, whose ingenious and elegant approaches have greatly enriched this book.

About the Author

Xiong Bin is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Mathematical Sciences, East China Normal University. He also serves as the director of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Core Mathematics and Practice, and the International Mathematical Olympiad Research Center. Professor Xiong is an expert with the State Council Special Allowance, and has been honored with the Shanghai May 1 Labor Medal as well as the Shanghai Model of Teaching and Educating. He has published over 100 scholarly papers in renowned national and international journals and has authored or co-authored more than 150 books. Additionally, Professor Xiong has served as the leader and head coach of the Chinese IMO team more than 10 times, and received the prestigious Paul Erdos Award in 2018 for his contribution to the development of mathematics competitions at the national and international level.
