About the Author:

Patrick D. Nunn is Professor of Geography at the University of the South Pacific, based at its main teaching campus in Suva, Fiji. He received a PhD from the University of London in 1983 and has been living and researching in the Pacific Islands since 1985.

In 1996 he led a 17-person scientific team to northeast Fiji. One of the islands surveyed was Vatuvara.
