Publicado hace 18 anos ahora vuelve a editarse este libro de Luis Chitarroni (Buenos Aires 1958). Son 40 los contornos de escritores y pintores que la prosa de Chitarroni explora mediante los recursos de una sintaxis gobernada por sutiles precisiones indispensables para elaborar estos ejercicios narrativos o cuentos timidos como los llama su autor en un breve prologo. La recopilacion se completa con una seccion titulada Vidas de biografos del Doctor Johnson a Lytton Strachey y Paul West entre otros); y culmina con Usuras que reune textos dedicados al mistico persa del siglo XII Attar a Catalina de Erauso (la monja alferez sobre la que escribio Thomas de Quincey) y a Weegee el truculento fotografo norteamericano de los anos treinta y cuarenta.
