About the Author

Susan Barrantes was born in England, she learned from childhood the secrets of horse breeding at her parents properties in that country and Ireland. Later on she settled in Argentina, where she became one of the most respected referees in the polo world. After the death of her husband, Hector Barrantes, she divided her time between Buenos Aires and his ranch El Pucara, where she continued raising exceptional petisos (ponies) for various teams from Argentina and abroad. She died in a car accident in 1997.
