Synopsis

After a long winter’s hibernation, Bruno the marmot wakes up to discover the most beautiful dandelion outside his burrow. The two quickly become friends and when the dandelion asks Bruno to help her, he has to trust her that everything will be fine. About the Author:

KNISTER is the stage name of Ludger Jochmann, who was born in 1952 in Bottrop, Germany. He is a musician, actor and author, with a strong commitment to special education and children’s theater. Knister has written more than 40 books since 1980, which have been translated into over 30 languages. Eve Tharlet studied art in Strasbourg, and is the illustrator of the Mr. Badger and Mrs. Fox books, Sharing Christmas, and Will You Still Love Me, If . . . ? and Here She Is! from minedition.

Then, after going to seed, Dandelion asks Bruno to blow at her as hard as he can, promising, Everything will be just fine. He does so and is startled when all of the seeds fly away. Distraught at the thought that he has destroyed the flower, he clings to her vow that everything will be all right. As promised, when he awakes the following spring, he sees a big, bright dandelion beaming at him. Large pages with soft, whimsical illustrations in watercolor and pencil depict the changing seasons and the animal's emotions, which range from happy excitement to sorrow, then back to joy.
