About the Authors

Sparkus Tinaquer Mutt was born circa November 1987, somewhere in the Canal Area in the Republic of Panama. As the third puppy in a litter of six full-fledged mutts, Sparkus never knew his dad, but his mom was a trooper. He earned his dogtorate from the Canal Zone Canine College and did his internship as a canine therapist for the pet population in and around the Corozal Vet Clinic. Sparky, as he affectionately known, is now semi-retired from chasing garbage trucks and dodging thunder, and dedicates his time to answering letters from disgruntled canines, felines and homo sapiens.

Patricia Veazey Alvarado grew up in Abbeville, Louisiana. She graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, with a degree in French and English. Then in a spirit of adventure she moved to the Republic of Panama to teach with the United Fruit Company. Later she received a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. After her 30-year teaching career, she now dedicates her time to writing bilingual children's stories and to laughing, especially at herself. Pat resides in Panama with her husband.

ANDREA SAROYA (AKA Andrea E. Alvarado) has been drawing since she was three years old. At first, a normal thing for any kid, the difference is, she never stopped. The beautiful jungles and beaches of her home country Panama and the clear star-lit nights she encountered in Taos, New Mexico, USA, many years ago, inspire her. She became a Children's Book Illustrator because it gives her the freedom to imagine, to use colors in many ways and be humorous as well. She resides in Canada with her husband and children.
