Datuk Abdullah bin Ali is one of the pioneers of Malaysia's Foreign Service. He began his diplomatic career in India and ended it as Malaysia's High Commission in London. He is still being consulted by his ex-colleagues in the Wisma Putra and by others on matters of protocol.
Though Datuk Abdullah is now retired from active service, he sits on several company boards and is Chairman of his own family company, KAB Sendirian Berhad and Imbasan Bahagia Sendirian Berhad. He is currrently the Chairman of the Malaysian Dutch Business Council.
