The Computer is a three-volume book series. Volume I will orient you to various fundamental concepts of computer technology. The book focuses on the computer machine – its basic components and what enables it to work the way it does. Volume II places the computer in an organizational environment and discusses the various aspects of positive transformation that can occur when computers are networked and an organization’s business processes and culture are redesigned. Volume III is a discourse on emerging technologies and their impact on future society. In this last part of the series important questions about the implications of current trends in computing on the future – matters which urgently need serious attention and reflection - are raised and discussed.
