Kindergarten-Grade 3-- An easy-to-understand, informative, and accurate science concept book. Berger uses clear, succinct language to explain how electricity is produced and transmitted, and how generators, light bulbs, and electrical plugs work. Directions are given for readers to produce an electric current using wire, a bar magnet, and a compass. Croll's clearly labeled drawings are excellent, showing the essential elements needed for understanding without unnecessary clutter. This is an excellent book for school and public libraries. Another good source of easy-to-read information about electricity is Challand's Experiments with Electricity (Childrens, 1986). --Eunice Weech, M. L. King Elementary School, Urbana, Ill.
