This is a compilation of recipes from the culturally diverse community of San Pedro, California. It was edited by Dolores S. Lisica, under the aegis of Friends of San Pedro Library. Of particular note are the illustrations by the award-winning author/illustrator Leo Politi.

Friends of the San Pedro Library, Producer of Around the World, Around Our Town; Recipes from San Pedro, is a non-profit support group for the San Pedro Regional Library, a branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. Chartered in 1972 with six founding members, we number close to 400 members. Our original goal was a new facility, and we feel that we did help our community achieve that goal. All proceeds from this book will be used to purchase books to expand and enrich the San Pedro Library collection.
